The most important benefit of exercise is that, if properly done, it increases longevity.

Here are the alternative exercises:

Housework ( scrubbing, waxing, sweeping, moving around things) demands as much energy as walking three miles per hour or cycling five miles per hour.

Climbing stairs- equals playing doubles tennis or jogging five miles per hour.

Jumping rope- is equivalent to swimming 45 yards a minute or running at six miles
per hour.
