Common “Eyebright” is a small, low herb, usually with one blackish green stalk rising up. From the bottom, it spreads into sundry branches, whereon are small and almost round, yet pointed, dark green leaves, two always set together. It has small white flowers, steeped with purple and yellow spots, or stripes. These develop into small round heads with very small seeds therein. Eyebright grows in meadows and grassy places in North America. It flowers in July.
Eyebright flowers maybe taken internally or made into eye drops, it has been used for many years to treat a variety of ailments affecting the eyes.

• Treats catarrhal inflammations of the eye
