Instant Noodles Popularity

Instant Noodles is now very popular anywhere in the world because it is easy and fast to prepare that is why it is called instant noodles. Where did instant noodles started? Base on my research, it started in Southern Taiwan during the time that Taiwan was under Japan Occupation in 1958 under the name Chikin Ramen. In 1971 Nissin introduce the cup noodles using polystyrene cup. Some variations add dried vegetables and other flavor like beef, shrimp, and vegetable aside from chicken.

Instant Noodles is in fact the best food development of the century according to 2000 poll in Japan. This noodles or Ramen as the Japanese calls it is very popular to people who are on the go because it is very easy and convenient to prepare. Instant Noodles is also used as indicator of economy because it is salable when it is down, meaning the people buy this food because it is affordable for most people especially the poor.

Instant Noodles

Indonesia is the second biggest producer of Instant Noodles after China which they call Indomie. Indomie which is produced by Indonesia is also very popular in Middle East. Instant Noodles are now available in different part of the world with their own version. Like in the Philippines it is flavored with chicken, beef and sea foods. Most of the Filipinos add egg when they boil it with hot water.

Many speculations about health that an instant noodle provides, one of these is that it can cause cancer but this believes is considered as hoax. It is because of wax chemical that is used to make the noodles separate from each other when cook. Another one is the oil which is saturated which is saturated fats or trans fat. Monosodium Glutamate is also considered as not healthy. Instant Noodles is of course high in carbohydrates but low in fiber, vitamins and minerals.
